Vivian & Marcus: New York City Wedding: The Lotos Club: NYC Wedding Photographer

This post is dedicated to all you Jane Austin fans out there, myself included.  If you dream of 18th century English country side homes complete with brass candle stick holders, wood posted canopied bed frames,  grand stair cases, and hand carved ornate details on EVERYTHING, well, The Lotus Club could be everything you've been dreaming of.  Sure there's no rolling prairie with sheep, or galant men on horseback, but Central Park is a quarter block away, so this is the next best thing.  Think of Elinor and Marianne's season in London with Mrs. Jennings.  I know! So whimsical and romantic!!

The Lotos Club was founded in 1870 as a literary club.  It has been in it's current building since 1900, and it has clearly stayed true to all its old world classic charm.  Anyways! Point is, it was the perfect location for Vivian and Marcus' big day.  This is a couple full of elegance and class, and an almost novel like romance that surrounds them when they're together.

This handsome couple recited personally written vows in the presence of thirty of their closest friends and family.   Then all their guests were invited upstairs for a midday cocktail hour, to be followed by a proper sit down three course meal.  The seating was done family style at one giant grand dining table with Vivian and Marcus at the head.  Before, after, and between each course family and friends shared extremely personal and heart felt toasts for the couple.   The time flew by and you could tell everyone had a positively lovely time at this elegant and intimate gathering.

After the couple cut the cake and the afternoon came to a close, it was time to head out and take some portraits in the park.  And . . . yes, of course . . . it started to POUR.  Just my luck.  After Sarah and Chris' wedding I really thought the wedding gods were gonna cut me some slack in this department.  But no such luck.  I must say though, it was almost a blessing in disguise because I ended up taking much more advantage of the gorgeous interior of the building.  Just as we were about to call it a day, the rain let up just enough for just enough time, so we headed outside for a few more portraits.  Vivan and Marcus were another super easy couple to photograph, so natural with one and other.  This was definitely a day that I walked away from thinking, "man, I just love my job."  :)

A special thanks to Heather, Carrie, and the staff at Lotos for all your help.  Enjoy . . .

P.S. How stunning is Vivian?! I mean come on!

P.P.S. Stayed tuned for our video highlight piece, soon to come!!
